Steven Wilson is a universal musical genius. He has already received four Grammy nominations, two of them for his progressive rock band Porcupine Tree. He has collaborated with international artists and bands such as Andy Partridge, Roxy Music, Pendulum and Opeth. His repertoire ranges from psychedelia and extreme metal to electronic, jazz and pop. The Daily Telegraph describes him as “the most successful British musician you’ve never heard of.”
On his latest album, THE FUTURE BITES, Wilson explores how the human brain has evolved in the Internet era. It’s a curious and playful reading of a world made even stranger and more separated by the events of 2020.
On THE FUTURE BITES there are tracks that deal with ravishing electronics distorted by human intervention (KING GHOST) and soaring acoustics that reach the stratosphere (12 THINGS I FORGOT); a ten-minute treatise on the joys of spending sprees performed by Elton John over a Moroder-esque whirlwind (PERSONAL SHOPPER). Together, the nine tracks make up Steven’s most consistently brilliant work to date. THE FUTURE BITES was recorded in London and co-produced by David Kosten (Bat For Lashes, Everything Everything) and Steven Wilson. THE FUTURE BITES is the first contemporary album by Steven Wilson to be mixed and released in Dolby Atmos.
