Description
18 years the world has been waiting for this! The Rolling Stones have announced their new studio album “Hackney Diamonds”. The album will feature 12 all-new original songs and was recorded at various locations around the world, including Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles, Metropolis Studios in London, Sanctuary Studios in Nassau in the Bahamas, Electric Lady Studios in New York and The Hit Factory/Germano Studios, also in New York.
“Hackney Diamonds” is their first studio album of new material since 2005’s “A Bigger Bang”, which was released 18 years ago. It also includes the last recordings of the legendary Charlie Watts, who was drummer for the Rolling Stones from 1963 until his death in 2021. His successor Steve Jordan is known, among other things, for his involvement in Keith Richards’ solo albums. “Hackney Diamonds” is his first involvement in a release by the band.
The new album is the first collaboration between the Stones (Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood) and New York-born producer and musician Andrew Watt, who was named Producer of the Year at the 2021 GRAMMY® Awards and has worked with Post Malone, Iggy Pop and Elton John. The design for Hackney Diamonds is by digital animator Paulina Almira.
