“Fragile” is Yes’s fourth studio album and marks one of the defining turning points in the band’s history: On this album, keyboardist Rick Wakeman makes his debut alongside Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Bill Bruford, and Steve Howe, completing the lineup that ultimately catapulted Yes to the top of the progressive rock scene. With hits like “Roundabout” and the much-loved “Long Distance Runaround,” the album achieved platinum status in the UK and double platinum in the U.S.

The Blu-ray features all of Steven Wilson’s 2024 mixes: an immersive Dolby Atmos mix and a new 5.1 mix give the album an unprecedented sense of spatial depth, complemented by a new stereo mix and instrumental versions of all tracks. The collection is rounded out by the original album, remastered by Bernie Grundman, and the bonus track “America.”

In addition to the four major group arrangements—most notably “Roundabout”—“Fragile” features five shorter solo compositions by individual band members, including Anderson’s “We Have Heaven” and Howe’s guitar instrumental “Mood for a Day.” This new release now makes the soundscape of “Fragile” accessible in three-dimensional space for the first time.
