With their 25th studio album, “Foreign Tongues,” the Rolling Stones demonstrate their undiminished artistic power. Less than three years after the Grammy-winning and globally successful album “Hackney Diamonds,” Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood put the new album on paper in just one month. “Foreign Tongues” was recorded at Metropolis Studios in West London under the direction of Grammy-winning producer Andrew Watt, who also produced “Hackney Diamonds.”

The album brings together 14 dynamic and forward-looking tracks that capture the legendary band’s unmistakable sound while exploring new musical and lyrical horizons. Alongside Jagger, Richards, and Wood, the album features longtime collaborators such as bassist Darryl Jones, keyboardist Matt Clifford, and drummer Steve Jordan. The album also includes a special recording featuring the late drummer Charlie Watts, recorded during one of his final sessions before his death in 2021. Guest appearances are provided by Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, Robert Smith of The Cure, and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The limited-edition box set includes a CD in a digisleeve with a 16-page lyric booklet, a 7-inch art print, a fold-out poster, and a Blu-ray featuring Dolby Atmos, 5.1 surround, and high-resolution stereo mixes.

The lead single, “In The Stars,” highlights the Stones’ classic strengths: Mick Jagger’s energetic vocals paired with the instant chemistry between Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood on guitar. To celebrate the album’s title, it was announced with a global campaign in which the iconic Stones tongue logo was displayed on billboards worldwide with the words “Foreign Tongues” in various foreign languages.
