The globally celebrated musician, producer and songwriter Steven Wilson releases his eighth studio album, “The Overview”.

The 42-minute work consists of two epic tracks – “Objects Outlive Us” and “The Overview” – and is inspired by the “overview effect”, a transformative experience that astronauts have when looking at Earth from space.

With “The Overview”, Wilson returns to his progressive roots, a genre he has helped to shape significantly. The two ambitious pieces consist of unique musical passages that flow seamlessly into one another, combining classic Prague elements with modern influences such as electronic and post-rock. The lyrics, some of which were written by Andy Partridge of XTC, tell stories about the beauty and challenges of life on Earth.

The album spans Wilson’s 30-year career, with echoes of Porcupine Tree, The Raven That Refused to Sing and The Future Bites. As always, Wilson offers an audiophile experience on Blu-ray Audio with a Dolby Atmos mix.
