Description

SEAL (also known as SEAL II) was released in May 1994 and presented a unique blend of pop, dance and soul. Produced by Trevor Horn, the album contained eleven tracks, including highlights such as “Prayer For The Dying”, “Bring It On” with Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman (known from Prince and the Revolution) and the duet “If I Could” with the incomparable Joni Mitchell. SEAL topped the British charts and reached number 15 in the USA, where it went quadruple platinum. In the summer of 1995, “Kiss From A Rose” was featured in the blockbuster “Batman Forever” and catapulted the song to number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Seal gewann drei Grammys® für „Record of the Year“, „Song of the Year“ und „Best Male Pop Vocal Performance“. SEAL (DELUXE EDITION) unveils ten previously unreleased recordings, including alternative versions of songs such as “Newborn Friend” and “Don’t Cry” as well as a haunting rendition of “Dreaming In Metaphors” with just Seal on piano. The accompanying Blu-ray audio disc contains the original album in a Dolby Atmos mix that draws you right into the heart of the musical action. Experience Seal’s unmistakable voice and the rousing melodies in a new dimension – as intense and realistic as if you were standing live in the studio. You can also enjoy the album in a high-resolution stereo mix for crystal-clear sound enjoyment. The DELUXE EDITION also offers further treasures from this era, such as the B-side “Blues In E”, a cover of Steve Miller Band’s “Fly Like An Eagle” (from the “Space Jam” soundtrack) and a version of “Manic Depression”, which Seal recorded with guitar virtuoso Jeff Beck for “STONE FREE: A TRIBUTE TO JIMI HENDRIX”.
