Description
RPWL from Freising in Bavaria have been one of the most consistent names in art and progressive rock for over two decades. In 2005, they released World Through My Eyes, an album that took their creative development to a new level. After three albums in which they had freed themselves emotionally and musically, a new beginning was on the cards – a courageous step that led them to question and redefine their sound.
The band ventured into new timbres and cultural influences. Indian instruments and vocals were recorded in a studio in New Delhi, giving songs such as “Sleep”, “Start The Fire” and the title track a special depth. With “Roses” – sung by ex-Genesis frontman Ray Wilson – they also achieved their most successful single ever, which is still on every setlist today and gained additional fame through the legendary “Rockpalast” appearance.
To mark its twentieth anniversary, the album is now being released as a lavishly remastered revisited edition. In addition to CD and double vinyl, it also includes new mixes in Dolby Atmos and the original surround mix from 2005. A worthy update for a work that not only impresses musically, but also set new standards in terms of sound – and has lost none of its magic to this day.
