The legendary complete recording of G. F. Handel’s “Messiah” from 1997 as remastered Blu-ray Audio + 2 CDs.

The Blu-ray audio contains a stereo and a surround mix in 24bit/96kHz as well as a Dolby Atmos mix in 24bit/48kHz. The powerful, dramatic and yet light-footed McCreesh recording of the Messiah comes into its own particularly well in these remasterings.

The vocal soloists are also outstanding: Susan Gritton, Dorothea Röschmann, Bernarda Fink, Charles Daniels and Neal Davies.

The British original sound ensemble Gabrieli Consort & Players under the direction of Paul McCreesh performs the “Foundling Hospital Version 1754” of the Messiah with great vitality and lightness. The 32-page booklet contains the complete libretto, the complete instrumental line-up and an accompanying text by the conductor in English and German.
