Description
In The Wake Of Poseidon, one of the most influential works in progressive rock history, is being released in a new, comprehensive edition. Originally released in 1970, the album represents the second milestone for British band King Crimson. Fifty-five years later, it is now being honoured with a masterful reissue that leaves nothing to be desired, both musically and technically.
The new edition includes an audio CD featuring the completely remixed 2025 stereo versions of the album, produced by Steven Wilson, who has already won several awards for his gentle, audiophile remixes of progressive rock classics. The CD is complemented by the so-called Elemental Mixes of four selected tracks, created by King Crimson producer David Singleton, as well as an alternative version of the monumental track The Devil’s Triangle, originally included in the long-out-of-print box set Sailors’ Tales.
The highlight of the edition is the audio Blu-ray, which takes up all the content of the CD and also offers a technical depth that should delight audiophile listeners. In addition to the album’s new Dolby Atmos mix (except The Devil’s Triangle), there is a 5.1 surround mix in DTS-HD Master Audio and a high-resolution stereo mix in 24bit/96kHz. By providing several mixes in parallel, the work is not only archived, but also musically and technologically expanded. A piece of music history that arose out of chaos and still touches us today with its depth and power.
