On 09 October 2020, the day John Lennon would have celebrated his 80th birthday, a lavishly produced anniversary edition will be released, combining only the greatest highlights of his solo career: GIMME SOME TRUTH.THE ULTIMATE MIXES

Produced by Sean Ono Lennon, with Yoko Ono Lennon serving as executive producer, the edition’s 36 songs, personally selected by Yoko and Sean, have been completely remixed: the result offers the ultimate listening experience for Lennon fans. In fact, he never sounded as stunning as he does here.

The GRAMMY Award-winning sound engineer Paul Hicks, who already worked on Imagine – The Ultimate Collection in 2018, is again responsible for the mix of the edition.

Once again, he is supported by sound engineer Sam Gannon. With the aim of getting the best possible sound quality, the original tapes were all re-transferred and cleaned up in the process, from which the new mixes were finally made. After weeks of preparation, the final versions were made at Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles, using only original analogue equipment from the time of their creation. The analogue mastering process then took place at London’s Abbey Road Studios, where Alex Wharton ensured that the songs were given the best possible, most authentic sound just in time for the anniversary.
