“War Child” was Jethro Tull’s seventh studio album and was released in 1974 as a direct follow-up to the two long-form works “Thick as a Brick” and “A Passion Play”. Originally conceived as music for a planned, ultimately never realized film project, the resulting pieces were brought together into an independent, ten-track album and marked the band’s return to more compact song structures.

Influenced by David Palmer’s expansive string arrangements, the album combines folk, rock and orchestral elements and contains two of the most famous singles in the band’s history with “Skating Away On The Thin Ice Of The New Day” and “Bungle In The Jungle”.

For the first time, “War Child” is available on this audio Blu-ray in a new Dolby Atmos mix created by Steven Wilson, supplemented by revised 5.1, stereo and instrumental mixes. In addition, there is the original quadrophony mix from 1974 in a remastered version.
