The Alan Parsons Project\u2019s third studio album, *Pyramid*, was originally released in May 1978 and was a concept album centered on the Pyramids of Giza\u2014a theme that captured the spirit of the late 1970s: pyramids adorned the backs of dollar bills, appeared in daily newspapers as mystical sources of power, and left an indelible mark on pop culture as an iconic motif. Recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, The Alan Parsons Project remained committed to the highest sound quality on \u201cPyramid.\u201d A diverse array of lead vocalists\u2014including John Miles, Colin Blunstone, Lenny Zakatek, David Paton, Jack Harris, and Dean Ford\u2014as well as studio musicians such as guitarist Ian Bairnson and drummer Stuart Elliott, with arrangements by Andrew Powell, gave the album its unmistakable character. The result was a worldwide success: over two million copies sold, and platinum and gold certifications in numerous countries, including the U.S., Germany, and Canada. <\/p>\n

This Immersive Audio Blu-ray presents \u201cPyramid\u201d in a version that has been completely remastered. For the first time, Alan Parsons himself has created a Dolby Atmos mix as well as a 5.1 surround sound mix of an Alan Parsons Project album\u2014directly from the original multitrack tapes. The release is complemented by a high-resolution stereo remaster (96 kHz\/24-bit) by Miles Showell. The result is an impressive sonic experience that unfolds the original\u2019s precise studio work across all three dimensions and elevates the album\u2019s atmospheric depth to a new level. The region-free Blu-ray also includes an illustrated 16-page booklet with liner notes, quotes from Alan Parsons, the Woolfson family, and the musicians, as well as complete song lyrics. <\/p>\n
