To mark the 100th anniversary of the audio play, Lübbe Audio is bringing a special listening experience to the audio market: The radio play adventure “The Beginning” marks the very first John Sinclair radio play available in Dolby Atmos!

This immersive mix, mixed by Erik Gierich in Dieter Krauthausen’s studios (“The Peppermint Experiment” by Marius Müller-Westernhagen, among others) has become a three-dimensional sound experience thanks to Dolby Atmos, which puts the listener right in the middle of the action and offers a unique atmosphere. The additional audio channels in the surround and height create a completely new soundscape that embeds the listener and gives them the feeling of being the center of the audio play. A mix that is hard to beat in terms of clarity and depth.

The story, however, remains the same: in Scotland, Professor Ivan Orgov performs black magic rites in his old castle to bring the dead back to life. After the first mysterious deaths occur, Scotland Yard is called in to help. But even ghost hunter John Sinclair, with the help of the army, seems powerless against the dark side. Because “Die Nacht des Hexers” (the original novel title) has only just begun…

More than 50 years ago, in July 1973, Jason Dark alias Helmut Rellergerd wrote “Die Nacht des Hexers”, the very first adventure in which the now famous ghost hunter John Sinclair appeared on the scene. He created a cosmos that, thousands of issues and hundreds of audio plays later, is more alive than ever. With a print run of well over 250 million novels and over 8 million audio plays sold, the “John Sinclair” brand has long since achieved cult status. In addition to regular top 10 rankings on the SPIEGEL bestseller list for audio books, the audio plays have been awarded gold and platinum several times.

Now old and new fans of the series can experience the gripping story in a completely different way – right in the middle of the action.
