duoW presents five highly virtuosic\u00a0works that challenge and redefine the limits and capabilities of the violin\u00a0and cello partnership, and transport the listener through time, allowing them\u00a0a glimpse into each composer\u2019s world.<\/p>\n

The ingenuity of these composers\u00a0evidences itself in the avant-garde techniques contained throughout these\u00a0compositions, and by their brilliant and often humorous allusions to the vernacular and popular culture of their respective eras. The\u00a0listener will hear tunes such as \u201cYankee Doodle,\u201d \u201cGod Save the Queen,\u201d \u201cThe Stars and Stripes Forever,\u201d Handel\u2019s ever-present\u00a0G minor Passacaglia, and will recognize borrowed elements from the folk and jazz idioms.<\/p>\n

duoW reflects the vision of these composers, redefining the concept of a duo ensemble with their dazzling technique, dynamic\u00a0musicianship, and commitment to the future of classical music, which can be seen with this astonishing and inspiring debut\u00a0album.<\/p>\n

Violinist Arianna Warsaw-Fan and cellist Meta Weiss\u2014duoW\u2014burst onto the international music scene when their cutting edge\u00a0music video, Ghosts and Flowers, went viral on the internet in the fall of 2011. Strongly committed to bringing classical music to\u00a0new audiences, these two ambitious Juilliard grads launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the production of a dazzling music\u00a0video which features their performance of the beautiful and highly virtuosic Handel-Halvorsen Passacaglia.<\/p>\n
