In celebration of Lennon’s birthday his younger son Sean Lennon will also be hosting an anniversary show and chat with Paul McCartney, his older brother Julian Lennon and Elton John in a two-part documentary. This first ever radio show hosted by Sean Lennon will be released on BBC Radio 2 this coming weekend<\/a>.<\/p>

This portrait sheds fresh light on John\u2019s remarkable career in music – one which created some of the most important musical milestones of the 20th Century – and also delves deep into his incredible back catalogue.<\/p>

Sean and Julian talk personally about their father and how he taught them about music. They recall Lennon\u2019s final album, Double Fantasy<\/em>, with Sean describing it \u2018overwhelming\u2019 to listen to because some of his earliest memories are of being in the studio with his dad during the recording of it. Most of Lennon’s songs on Double Fantasy<\/em> are also featured on the freshly remixed and upcoming GIMME SOME TRUTH of course.
The two brothers also share their memories of finding out their dad was a member of one of the most influential bands of all time<\/a>. In the BBC Radio 2 documentary Paul McCartney recalls meeting John the first time and talks about their special connection: \u201cI look back on it now like a fan, how lucky was I to meet this strange teddy boy off the bus, who played music like I did and we get together and boy, we complemented each other!\u201d Sean asks about his grandma, John\u2019s mum, who had a massive influence on his life and music, but sadly died when John was a teenager. Paul talks about how much she was like John and how Sean would have loved her.
The story about the relationship between John and his mother was also turned into a major motion picture released in 2009<\/a>.<\/p>
