This definitive release includes 5 CDs, 1 LP and a Blu-ray. A remastered version of the original album CLOSE TO THE EDGE graces both CD-1 and LP; the Blu-ray contains the first ever 2025 mixes by Steven Wilson in Dolby ATMOS and 5.1 mix DTS-HD MA; Wilson’s remix and instrumentals also adorn CD-2. A variety of rare and previously unreleased recordings for the SUPER DELUXE EDITION can be heard on CD 3, and a live show from 1972 on CDs 4 and 5.

The rarities CD contains rough mixes, alternative versions and arrangements of standard tracks from CLOSE TO THE EDGE and offers another perspective on this work. Three previously unreleased tracks by Steven Wilson – “Siberian Khatru”, “Cord of Life” and “Total Mass Retain” – adorn this collection. The recording LIVE AT THE RAINBOW, LONDON, ENGLAND, 12/16/72 spans two CDs and captures the group at the height of their tour that accompanied the album.

The collection features liner notes from Jazz & Coffee’s Syd Schwartz, who delves into the process and history behind the groundbreaking CLOSE TO THE EDGE, reflecting the spirit at the heart of the “ultimate Yes album”. Guitarist Steve Howe shares that “CLOSE TO THE EDGE is Yes’ most wonderful album; it contains our first 20-minute epic, the template for many large-scale tracks that followed, accompanied by two ten-minute tracks that were also recorded with the utmost musical and technical integrity. The recording of Fragile was an experience that allowed us to make Close To The Edge the career defining album of Yes.
