With Wish You Were Here, Pink Floyd released one of the most influential albums in rock history in 1975. The work fascinates with its sonic depth, emotional density and atmospheric power. For the 50th anniversary, an elaborately designed special edition is now being released, which complements the original album with rare studio recordings, alternative versions and impressive live recordings. This new edition opens up a new perspective on the album and makes it clear how timeless its central themes have remained: absence, transience and alienation in the modern music world.

The focus is on the album’s first-ever Dolby Atmos mix, created by James Guthrie, which provides an immersive, spatial sound experience. The audio offering is complemented by Hi-Res Stereo and 5.1 surround sound. In total, the Blu-ray contains 25 bonus tracks, including nine studio rarities as well as 16 restored live recordings from the legendary 1975 concert at the Los Angeles Sports Arena, recorded by well-known taper Mike Millard and remastered by Steven Wilson.

The edition also offers added value visually: in addition to a short film by Storm Thorgerson, it contains three concert films from the 1975 tour.
The iconic songs like “Shine On You Crazy Diamond”, “Welcome to the Machine” or “Wish You Were Here” sound more intense and timeless than ever before.

This edition offers an intensive insight into the creative work of Pink Floyd and makes it clear how topical the album still is today.
