Description
Apostrophe (‘), arguably the most popular album in Frank Zappa’s catalog, was a consistent bestseller. It was Zappa’s first gold record in the USA and reached number 10 in the Billboard 200 charts. The single “Don’t Eat The Yellow Snow” also made the Billboard Top 100 Hits, reaching #87. The success of Apostrophe(‘) helped Zappa achieve a new level of fame, and over the years the album has been a first port of call for most when discovering his music. The 5-CD + Blu-ray audio set includes the original album, newly remastered by Bernie Grundman, session outtakes from the Vault and two bonus concerts from 1974. The Blu-ray includes the new remastering in high-resolution formats, brand new Dolby Atmos remixes by Karma Auger and Erich Gobel, and FZ’s 1974 Quadraphonic mix, available again for the first time in 50 years. The package includes new historical essays by Simon Prentis and Vaultmeister Joe Travers, as well as never-before-seen images from the archive of Sam Emerson, who shot the now iconic cover photo.
